The past year has been a non event for those of us in the arts, only alleviated by a few lighter moments provided by the Yellow Edge Gallery , which doggedly kept going and at which various members: Karen Eames, Sue Halloway, Rachel Hunt, Don Richards and Clarissa Russell were able to show their work.
2d3d South committe have been holding Zoom meetings, which have been quite heartening. In our most recent one we discussed the year's Hampshire Open Studios and whether, as a group we would be able to show in the new and exciting ( and as yet unused ) West Downs Gallery at the University of Winchester. One of our members, Rosie Parmeley, was a contestant on Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year. This is an achievement; thousands apply, so it was good to see her individual take on the landscape of Chartwell, which formed the subject matter of the episode. We look forward to hearing from her directly about her experience. In Memoriam. During the past year we have lost two of our members: Marjorie Thomsen, a long-standing and enthusiastic member of our group whose sensitive work has delighted us for many years. Mark Dodd, who was a member of the group until quite recently, was a delightful man. Formerly of the BBC Overseas Service, his help in setting up exhibitions was much appreciated and his pastel portraits and nudes will be long remembered.
